Mizuno has a reputation for making wider fitting football boots, but is the Mizuno Morelia II Elite good for players with wide feet?
Design and Construction:
The Mizuno Morelia II Elite is another classic looking football boot. The first thing you notice about the Mizuno Morelia II Elite is the incredibly soft premium leather upper. This is combined with a good amount of padding in the ankle and heel area to produce a boot made for comfort. The Mizuno logo adds structure to the sides of the boot while the traditional lacing system offers a great deal of adjustability. Underneath, the outsole with 13 conical studs provides grip and support.
Suitability for wide feet:
The Mizuno Morelia offers good width across the ball of the foot, suiting players with regular to above average width feet. The toe area is where you really notice the width with ample space provided. The premium kangaroo leather was noticeably very soft and promises to stretch to help mould the boot to the foot. The boots also felt wider across the midfoot with the traditional lacing systems and separated tongue allowing the tightness to be adjusted. For players looking for a wider fitting boot I would suggest looking at the New Balance 442 V2 Pro Wide or the Puma Future 7 Pro.
To be aware:
The one downside I noticed when wearing the Morelia II Elite was that I found the toe box quite shallow and found that the boots rub the top of my toes where the tongue joins the upper.
